This bolt kit is designed exclusively for all Land Rover 88” models, and provides ALL of the bolts, nuts, and lock-washers required to assemble a complete exhaust system with all the hangers. Please note that hangers, gaskets, and rubber straps are not included in this kit, and must be ordered separately.
THE KIT CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING
5/16”: 3 - 1” Bolts, 7 - 1 1/2” Bolts, 10 - Nuts, 10 - Lock Washers
1/4”: 13 - 1” Nuts, 13 - 1” Bolts, 13 - 1” Lock Washers
5/16”(Stainless Steel): 3 - Nuts, 3 - Lock Washers
The 5/16” hardware is used as follows (see diagram)
The 3 - 1 1/2” bolts are used to bolt together the front and intermediate pipes. 4 of the 1” bolts are used to bolt the intermediate pipe to the rear muffler. 2 of the 1” bolts bolt together the top & bottom halves of the tailpipe hanger (#5685 & 5686). The last 1” bolt is used to bolt together the top of the #1570 intermediate pipe hanger clamps. This bolt also holds the #1569 pieces in between these clamps. The 4 extra stainless steel nuts and lock-washers are used to bolt the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold. There is no gasket used here, except for earlier petrol and diesel models, which use the 4 hole mounting flange and the #220 gasket. Most later models use the 3 studded bevel fit flange mount. If these 3 studs out of the exhaust manifold need replacing, use #5574 studs.
The 1/4” pieces are used as follows
12 of these bolts are all used to hold together the top & bottom of the rubber hanger straps in between the clamps and chassis mounts. The final bolt holds together the bottom of the #1570 intermediate pipe clamp halves. The 1/4” x 1” bolts then go through these. Each hanger uses 2 #231 hanger straps.
