Land Rover has plans to recall 5,238 Range Rover vehicle models manufactured between May 7, 2013 and October 10, 2013. The issue centers around a turn signal warning malfunction that fails to let drivers know that their turn signal is not operating properly.
Under normal circumstances, a Range Rover’s turn signal should flash or click at a double rate to notify the driver that there is an issue with the operation of their turn signal. Without this important notification system, a driver could continue to operate their vehicle unaware that their turn signal is not working, posing a significant threat to both the operator of the vehicle and other automobiles on the road. Land Rover has identified that the turn signal notification system on select 2014 Range Rovers is not clicking and flashing as it should, and have planned to recall vehicles to correct the problem.
Land Rover plans to notify vehicle owners on or by May 27, 2014, and owners of the vehicle can have their software updated for free at Land Rover dealerships. Owners can call Land Rover at 800-637-6837, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to http://www.safercar.gov for more info.
