Jaguar Land Rover recently unveiled their 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport at this years New York Motor Show and now we have the first pictures of a testing vehicle at Germany’s famous Nurburgring.
The Discovery Sport is the first vehicle announced as part of Land Rover’s new Discovery family of vehicles. It borrows a platform and design cues from its Range Rover Evoque relative and will offer a (relatively) inexpensive option for Land Rover consumers by replacing the outgoing LR2 or Freelander model. The Discovery Sport will be available in both five-seat and seven-seat models, but few other details are known about the new vehicle.
Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer Gerry McGovern offered the following comment, “I am proud to confirm the nameplate that will make Discovery a family of vehicles for the first time. It will be called the Discovery Sport and will go on sale in 2015. This will be a versatile and capable SUV and is the first expression of the Discovery Vision Concept unveiled here in New York.”
