Land Rover’s long-standing partnership with the Royal Geographic Society (with IBG) takes a new turn in 2021. The new Earth Photo competition aims to get people out into the landscape and appreciate their surroundings.

As the world thinks about how we will live after the COVID-19 pandemic, Jaguar Land Rover has taken a step to adapt future vehicles to the “new normal.” Coming Land Rovers will use Panasonic nanoe-X technology to filter cabin air, removing particles as small as the coronavirus.

The Defender is adding another engine to the mix for the 2022 model year: the legendary 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the Range Rover lineup. The 518-horsepower monster will be the new range-topper powerplant in the Defender.

After some drastic actions, including job cuts and the elimination of some models, things have turned around, and despite the pandemic, JLR recorded a profit of $603 Million in the third quarter of 2020 – a stunning two-year recovery.

The Range Rover Classic, the winner of the 1979 and 1981 Dakar Rally, returned to the iconic event in competition this year as part of the “Dakar Classic” rally, a competition category for vehicles built before the year 2000.

Despite its launch being significantly delayed, 9,115 new Defenders found new homes last year – more than the 6,913 North American Specification (NAS) Defenders that were sold from 1993-1997.
