Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s Director of Design, has offered fans of the marque a little morsel of information about the upcoming revamp of the Defender model line. McGovern, in a statement to Automotive News, says that “People will know it's a Defender, it's a modern Defender. But it will bear no resemblance [to the concepts Land Rover has shown in recent years].”

Londoners were more than likely surprised to see a one-off-Land Rover Defender-based ‘London Taxi' tooling around the capital. The Defender was being filmed for a commemorative piece celebrating the iconic vehicle and promoting the coming auction of the 2,000,000th Defender. The charity auction will be December 16th, 2015 at Bonhams New Bond Street headquarters.

The Australia 2015 Land Rover Experience Tour has just finished, covering 3,613 kilometers over the last three weeks.

The tour took 19 Land Rovers across desert and mountainous terrain and traversed the entire length of Australia's Northern Territory. The trip ended at UNESCO World Heritage Site, Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock.

This past weekend, a handful of Land Rover owners traveled from as far as Ontario and Washington DC to a small farm in Upstate New York, to participate in the annual Guy Fawkes Day Land Rover gathering.

This little known, unofficial event has been taking place for over a decade, started by organizer Howard Smith in the early 2000's. Attendance can vary, and although this year's turnout was a bit on the small side, it seems a good time was shared by all. Being in upstate New York, in November, the weather and trail conditions are somewhat unpredictable.

In preparation for the official launch of their Evoque convertible, Land Rover has taken its newest vehicle through a series of rigorous off road tests to ensure that its handling is on a par with the standard that the luxury SUV brand is known for.

After the release of publicity photos showing wire frame sculptures of the Evoque rag tops posed in front of iconic London locations, Land Rover have now released video of some of the off road tests to demonstrate that its newest product “will be the most capable convertible in the world.”

The Rover owners Association of Virginia holds their Mid Atlantic rally every year somewhere in Virginia, this year the festivities took place at Wheatland Farm in Southwestern VA, the same site that has been in use since 2013.

The one thing the mar has become known for, other than fun and four wheeling is rain, and mud. Lots of mud. Not just any mud but thick, sticky, red Virginia clay type of mud.

Last week, Londoners woke up to wireframe sculptures of Land Rover’s new Range Rover Evoque Convertible mysteriously parked on the city’s streets.

The full scale sculptures were placed in iconic London locations and then photographed with the famous London landmarks as a backdrop.

The Land Rover Discovery, or as we know it in the US, the LR4, has been declared “Tow Car of the Year” by the UK’s “Caravan Club.” Discovery bested 43 other models to win the honor, completing a series of grueling tests that included towing up a steep incline, a hill start and demonstrating the ease with which it can be maneuvered to hitched up to the trailer.

As part of its Display at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, JLR unveiled its creations that will be appearing in the new James Bond adventure film, “SPECTRE.”

The custom-built Bond vehicles, a Range Rover Sport SVR, a Land Rover Defender and a Jaguar C-X75, were revealed to the public September 15th in special event at Frankfurt’s Thurn und Taxis Palace.
