Jaguar Land Rover’s decision to bail on the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit in favor of India’s New Delhi exhibition has been widely criticized, but U.S. Rover owners shouldn’t be all that surprised. Let us not forget that Jaguar Land Rover is owned by Indian conglomerate Tata Motors.

Jaguar Land Rover (of Tata Motors) has announced a new joint venture with Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery Automobile to create a new luxury automobile platform based on current Jaguar models.

Autocar reports that Jaguar Land Rover is in the midst of planning development of the Range Rover Grand Evoque; a mid-size vehicle based on the design of the current Range Rover Evoque.

“There have been many great cars launched over the last 12 months…but these are just one-trick ponies. The Evoque is more than that. It’s a pony that is also a racehorse, a shire horse, a dray horse, a show jumper and an easy rosette-winner in the dressage competition. It’s brilliant. And it’s the Top Gear Car of the Year.”

Land Rover has recently been awarded with two ALG Annual Residual Value Awards, an honor bestowed each year to vehicles predicted to retain the highest percentage of their MSRP after a 3-year period.

Faced with the prospect of driving off a cliff, the In Search of the Experience Racing Team was forced to bow out of the Baja 1000 after traveling over 400 miles.

A team of daring Rover enthusiasts set to embark on the world’s most grueling automotive endurance race this weekend chasing a dream that some would say is unobtainable: lead their 22-year old, Range Rover Classic rebuild to a podium finish at the Baja 1000.

The DC100 concept vehicle made its U.S. debut Wednesday at the LA Auto Show, giving American audiences their first taste of a new “Defender” in almost fifteen years. Much has changed since the Defender left in 1997, and the alterations are not limited to the vehicle’s drastic redesign. The DC100 is developing some pretty remarkable technology too.
