A new photographic ad campaign sees the new Range Rover Evoque replicating some famous British road signs in London, further promoting its position as a capable urban vehicle.
Britain's road signs -- much more graphical and simple than American ones -- are a bit of an icon of the country's roads. The new Evoque is even more unabashedly urban-focused than the old one, but like any Land Rover product, it is the most off-road capable of the luxury mini-crossovers, even if that doesn't necessarily mean it's a Defender in the dirt. The new campaign strives to enforce that point.
The photos are taken across London, using a portable four-meter warning triangle frame. The first two replicate the British warning signs for "Steep Hill" and "Uneven Road."
The "Wild Animals" warning sign is represented by a deer in the Clearsight rear view mirror, which turns into a video screen when the rear window is obstructed.
There's also a video of the Evoques going into and out of the frames.
While it's no Camel Trophy footage, Land Rover is clearly not pretending that the Evoque is that caliber of off-roader. But even so, they're making it very clear that it's far more tuned for a potholed city than the other upscale mini-SUVs you might be cross shopping.
