Busman's Holiday much? I don't think so. Jaguar Land Rover has released a new internal video documenting an employee engagement event at its new Halewood factory. Employees of the works were given the opportunity to spend 30 minutes behind the wheel of the newest Land Rover model, the 2015 Discovery Sport.
Each of the 4,260 workers was able to experience the capabilities of the vehicle during a test drive around the on-site Land Rover Experience test track.
Eight brand-new vehicles were used for the event, which lasted 10 days and ran non-stop for 24 hours a day.
Richard Else, JLR Halewood operations director, said: “We have seen a lot of smiling faces during the course of this employee engagement event. The Discovery Sport is more than a SUV, we want it to provide experiences our customers will love, for life.
“So, it is therefore really important that the employees building that experience, get a proper taste of the final product. We have a very passionate and proud workforce at Halewood and we will see this pride reflected in the quality of our vehicles as we start to deliver them to the showrooms around the world in 2015.”
Land Rover does offer tours of the manufacturing lines at Halewood. And starting in February, Discovery Sport models will be available for use at the Land Rover Experience Center located on the Halewood site.
