Moab, Utah - the mecca of mounds, the religion of rocks, the valhalla of valleys - draws Land Rover enthusiasts like no other place on Earth. Our own Eric the Intrepid is certainly no stranger to this strange land of "you can't climb that!" rocks, moguls and hills. Eric met up with some new friends on his way out there; a group of Land Rover enthusiasts who, as Eric describes, are "the kind of guys who would call each other at three in the morning to come out and winch them out of a jam." Hard core guys who thought it would be fun to celebrate Land Rover's 60th anniversary with a trip to off-roading's holy land and, having done some work with Universal Studios in the past, they thought it would be even more fun to take a video camera along to document it all.
The result, "In Search Of The Experience" is a brilliant look at the sometimes frightening, sometimes beautiful but always fun off-roading adventure as the gang takes on Moab mano-a-mano. And yes, he can climb that. Eric is in the video, as one Disco 2 Owner who was afraid of heights asked him if he wouldn't mind taking the wheel to get over a particularly high mound. Intrepid as always, he managed it just fine. Also in the video is a tech bit on how to replace your head gaskets from start to finish.
This unique DVD will be available from Atlantic British sometime around Thanksgiving. Check it out. You'll enjoy hanging out with this group of friends.
