With news of increased Evoque demand, new Range Rover models, and ramped up marketing and advertising, it comes as no surprise to learn that Jaguar Land Rover is again increasing its UK work force.
1,100 new employees will be hired at company’s Castle Bromwich plant, a decision that is welcomed by the region and expected to help boost the country’s lackluster economy. The new employee hiring is the latest in a series of Jaguar Land Rover hiring periods; the company as added 8,000 new workers over the past two years.
The increase in work force numbers is due in large part to the company’s recent financial successes. The Evoque is arguably the most-talked-about vehicle on the market, and this has been reflected in Jaguar Land Rover sales figures – up 19% the first half of this year compared to 2011 figures. Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Ralph Speth’s comments echoed the company’s growth trajectory, stating,” We will continue to invest in new products, develop new technologies and enhance the skills of our employees.”
