Several stunt Land Rovers from James Bond movies are going under the hammer in an online auction starting September 15th, including a pre-production Defender 110 with VIN number 007 used in No Time to Die.
The charity sale celebrates sixty years of James Bond, and overall it has sixty lots from vehicles to watches to costumes and props. Part of the auction is online while part is a live auction at Christie’s in London.
Up for sale on the online auction are three Land Rovers from the films. Most notable is VIN 007, one of ten pre-production Defenders used for the action sequences in No Time to Die. These were the first ten vehicles built at the Nitra, Slovakia factory. Before the film’s release was significantly delayed due to the pandemic, the original April 2020 date was intended to tie into the global launch of the Defender. VIN 007 is estimated to sell for 300,000 to 500,000 pounds.
There’s also a Range Rover Sport SVR stunt car, used during a chase scene in Norway in No Time to Die. Finished in Eiger Grey, with the 5.0-liter SVR-spec V8, it would be a great daily driver if it hadn’t been modified for film – all the stunt vehicles are sold as non-runners with the onus of registration on the buyer.
Finally, there’s a Defender 110 V8 Bond Edition, inspired by the stunt trucks and designed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Bond franchise. While not a film vehicle, it’s still a piece of Bond heritage and as one of the early Defender V8s, also a desirable vehicle in its own right.
You can find more information on the lots and auction on the Christie’s website, including the other lots of props and behind-the-scenes pieces if you’re a hardcore Bond fan.
