Land Rover is continually at the forefront of the automotive industry when it comes to embracing new technology and incorporating it into the ownership experience. Now, you can start reaping the benefits of JLR's massive R&D budget before you even lay down your hard earned cash to purchase one of the high-tech off-roaders.
Using Virtual Reality headset technology, JLR hopes to provide customers an entirely new way of looking at upcoming new models or features.
The VR headsets will give potential owners the chance to peep new models in 3D, and in full 1:1 life-size scale, in concert with VR guides that can explain vehicle features and performance in immediate detail.
JLR has used VR in the past, though mostly to promote Jaguar vehicles at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The first Land Rover model to be featured in the VR programming will be the new Discovery, slated to hit dealerships later in 2017. So far there is no information on which dealerships will get the VR systems, or when.
