Land Rover has recently announced an official partnership with off-road performance firm Bowler that will allow the companies to work closely on vehicle and parts development for future Land Rover inspired rally vehicles.
Bowler has been using Land Rover vehicles for a period of 20 years, so the announcement is more of a formality than anything else. However, the new partnership outlines an arrangement that will allow Bowler to feature “Powered by Land Rover” on all of their vehicles and marketing material. In addition, Bowler will now benefit from Land Rover technical support, and have an inside track on technology advancements emerging from Land Rover development.
Drew Bowler, Managing Director of Bowler had the following comment:
“It is Land Rover’s support as well as its technology that has helped Bowler to gain an incredibly strong reputation for extreme off-road performance over the last two decades, and as we embark on a new era for the business – introducing our first model engineered for use outside competition racing – I’m very pleased that the relationship has been formalised.”
Bowler’s current EXR and EXR S rally cars are based on the Range Rover Sport and meet FIA T1 specs. The EXR is powered by a modified version of the Rover’s 5.0 liter V8, while the EXR S features a modified version of the supercharged 5.0 liter V-8 that produces 550 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque.
