Land Rover has traditionally used the Geneva Motor Show for significant vehicle reveals, drumming up excitement and enthusiasm for the future of the brand. This year is no different with Land Rover announcing plans for a new lineup of Discovery branded models.
Lest you be confused, the Discovery lineup should include a variety of vehicles – not just the flagship Discovery – including the new Freelander/LR2 replacement that has made its way through the automotive courtesy of a series of camouflaged spy shots. Just like the Range Rover brand has expanded to include the Evoque and Autobiography, it seems that Land Rover envisions the Discovery range to encompass a family of traditional, utilitarian SUVs.
Right now we believe the Discovery family will include the next generation Discovery vehicle, as well as the aforementioned Freelander/LR2 replacement. Of course, we anticipate Land Rover adding to this range over the next few years. For now, check out the video that Land Rover used to announce the new lineup at Geneva.
