Jaguar Land Rover announced that has completed a multi-million dollar upgrade to their production press line at one of their largest British plants, presumably in response to increased global vehicle demand.
A new, 13 meter tall, 55 meter long press used for die casts and metal moulding is projected to drastically improve productivity be reducing the time it takes to create the components from 55 minutes to 5 minutes. The upgrade is forecasted to add hours of production each week. The timing couldn’t be better for this type of manufacturing enhancement as Land Rover has been unable to meet surging global demand for their new lineup of vehicles.
