As a Land Rover enthusiast, it is challenging not to be overwhelmed with a sense of pity for the masses of people who do not own a Rover and are thus completely oblivious to the joy these vehicles bring. In some cases, the vehicle’s unparalleled capabilities engender a sense of civic duty in their owners, who feel that the best way to introduce others to the superiority of their vehicle is to lend a helping hand.
A British man named Spencer Pickstock took it upon himself to tow 27 different vehicles that became stuck in the snow after slipping off the road. “I was heading home about 4pm and there were just so many people stuck in the snow. A lot of people looked worried and some of them were crying. I started to help a couple of cars, but I felt bad about the others, so I kept going back.” Spencer returned to the site the next morning and continued his good Samaritan efforts until he had freed all of those in need. Of course, this would not have been possible had Spencer been driving just ANY type of car.
“The whole time I was there, not a single police car had come, but people were very happy that we got it all moving. I just think it’s nice to help people in need.”
