We’ve known for some time that Land Rover plans to replace the existing Freelander (or LR2) model with a new vehicle that we believe will be called the Grand Evoque. New photos have leaked that feature what we presume to be a Grand Evoque prototype.

What we see in these pictures reflects many of the design features that we came to expect based on information put forth by Land Rover. The vehicle seems to borrow styling cues from both the Range Rover Evoque and the new Range Rover Sport. A sloping roofline and sweptback headlights bare a striking resemblance to the aforementioned models. We can also make out a rear mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust.
A variety of reports indicate that the Grand Evoque will use the existing Evoque platform, and use many of the lightweight aluminum components used in newer Range Rover models that have allowed the vehicle to enjoy a lower curb weight, quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy.
