The Range Rover Sport will be making a grand entrance at this year’s Dubai Motor Show, fresh off a remarkable excursion across The Empty Quarter of the Arabian peninsula, the second-largest desert in the world.
The journey begins at Wadi Adda Wasir in Saudi Arabia and spans 537 miles to the border of the United Arab Emirates just in time for this year’s Dubai Motor Show. Spanish driver Moi Torrallardona, a Dakar Rally veteran, guided the Range Rover Sport across some of the world’s roughest terrain, where daytime temperatures regularly exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Remarkably, the Range Rover Sport remains completely stock, save a modified underbody plate to protect the vehicle from sand.
Land Rover has plans to release a short film documenting the journey which will serve as a lasting marketing piece for this amazing promotional event.
