Voting has begun for the 2022 Defender Service Awards, with 25 non-profits in five categories in the running for one of five custom-outfitted Land Rover Defender 130 vehicles. Through November 6, you can vote at LandRoverUSA.com, with the winners to be announced at Destination Defender in Saugerties, NY on November 12th.
The Defender Service Awards follow 2021's successful Above and Beyond Service Awards, which saw seven organizations take home a new Defender 110. This year, the awards are back with the new Defender 130, a tweaked name, and title sponsorship from Chase with category sponsorship from other partners. For the first time, there are also Canadian entrants, and three of the finalists are from Canada.
Each of the winners will also take home $25,000, donated by the category sponsors, to further their cause. But just for making the finals, Chase has donated $5,000 to each of the 25 finalists, a total of $125,000.
The finalists are:
Animal Welfare Award, Presented by KONG:
Veterans Outreach Award, Presented by dentsu x:Environmental and Conservation Award, Presented by OUTSIDE Interactive Inc:
Community Services Award, Presented by ei3:Search and Rescue Award, Presented by Pelican:Over 800 organizations submitted videos that pitched why they thought they were the most worthy of the new Defender. For the next few weeks, you can watch the finalists' videos and decide who you think is most worthy of taking home a new vehicle. We'll have all the news on the final selections from Destination Defender next month.
