What if you challenged seven of the world’s leading super yacht designers to apply their cutting-edge spatial and design tools to customize a Range Rover?
Congratulations to Andrew Winch! He won the Superyacht Range Rover Design Competition, besting six of his super yacht designing colleagues with the design judged best overall.
All of the designs were pretty wild, which is what you’d expect from a cross-pollination of yacht/car design.
“I am so excited to have just won the Edmiston Superyacht Range Rover Design Competition.” Winch said. “It was a very exciting challenge to compete against friends and colleagues in the yacht design industry to produce an innovative and unique Winch signature on such a great, established car as the Range Rover.
As always, I approached this challenge from a lifestyle and Client point of view so that the design will stand out in the Cote D’Azur, yet work in harmony with our beautiful motor and sailing yacht designs. It is the ONLY mode of transport from private Winch jet to Winch yacht! Once again Edmiston are being highly innovative in their approach to Client lifestyle.”
Jamie Edmiston, sponsor of the competition, commented, “All seven designs impressed us with their innovation and originality. It was a very close decision, with Andrew Winch’s design variations, including the cruiser and stretched version inspiring the judges. All of the designers have created a range of vehicles that are sure to become must-have Land Tenders for the superyacht owner.”
Land Tender. Now there’s a new bit of vernacular to go along with the new – call them outlandish – styles!
