The last model in the New Defender trio launches May 31st, with the new Defender 130 filling the role of an extended-length eight-seat adventure mobile.

Land Rover has already issued a recall on the brand-new L460 Range Rover. Nineteen specific vehicles built in February have been recalled over front crash sensors that aren’t torqued down enough and can come loose. But far from being a major build-quality problem, this kind of to-the-specific-vehicle quality control is a major step forward in overall build quality.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the North American Specification (NAS) Defender 110, launched in 1992 for the 1993 model year. To pay tribute, Land Rover has built 500 new Defender 110s in a tribute specification, right down to numbered plaque.

A new, whimsical Defender TV commercial has been banned in the UK for misrepresenting the function of the vehicle’s backup sensors after two people submitted complaints to Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Ever since The Queen first watched a race from the roof of her Series truck, Land Rovers and equestrian sports have gone together like champagne and caviar. Land Rover has a long history in America of sponsoring equestrianism, including putting its name on the Kentucky Three-Day Event, one of the most significant events in the annual competition calendar. With the US Equestrian Federation Pack, Land Rover now offers an Equestrian-themed Accessory Pack to their customers.

The Spring Robesonia Trials held by the R.O.V.E.R.S. Club in the Mid-Atlantic region were last weekend in Robesonia, Pennsylvania. The trials happen twice a year, in the spring and fall, and pit local Rover owners against each other in as test of skill and the agility on the trail.

On April 1st, the Montgomery, NJ EMS team took delivery of their new Defender 110 First Responder Vehicle from Land Rover Princeton – the only EMS team in America with a new Defender in their fleet. Thanks to winning the Defender Above and Beyond Service Awards contest, the new Defender was also free.

In the midst of the new Range Rover launch and the coming new Range Rover Sport, plus a new Range Rover Evoque a few years ago, it might be easy to forget that the Range Rover Velar is still a groundbreaking vehicle in the Land Rover portfolio. The Velar is now in its fifth year, and having set the tone for the next generation of the current Range Rover design language, it’s time for it to get some updates.

To celebrate six decades of the storied and uber-British James Bond franchise, Land Rover entered a Bond-themed rally-prepped Defender 90 into subsidiary Bowler’s 2022 Bowler Defender Challenge. The first stage of the rally was driven by – and won by – Bond stunt driver and three-time British Rally Champion Mark Higgins.

Land Rover is working on a massive new battery Gigafactory in the English region of Teeside, in the northeast. The new factory will provide electric components for JLR’s new generation of electrified vehicles.

The Above and Beyond Service Awards Defenders have been handed over to their new owners the past few days, and in Kentucky, the Wolfe County Search and Rescue team took possession of theirs from none other than the Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear.

Prince William and Princess Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are having a week of old and new Land Rovers, in Britain and the Caribbean. With a new fifth-generation Range Rover in the Royal fleet in Britain and a visit to Jamaica next week that will involve a Series II 109” that The Queen once rode in, they’re taking in every side of Land Rover history.
