Next week was supposed to be the New Defender press launch in Britain, and Land Rover had prepared dozens of trucks for the event. But Covid-19 had different plans, and the launch is off for now, alongside just about every other event in the UK. With a massive pool of idle brand-new trucks and a national crisis on hand, Land Rover swiftly switched tactics and is currently dispatching the entire press fleet across Britain to assist the British Red Cross.

The British Government has asked UK automakers, including Jaguar Land Rover, to make preliminary plans to manufacture ventilators in their factories to help the nation deal with the potential healthcare crisis from the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The New Defender 110 has been available to order since September 2019, and already is selling well. The Defender 90 is now available for order, with the Defender 90 First Edition limited to 500 vehicles in the United States.

With the Discovery and Defender refreshed in the past few years, it’s now time for the cycle of new Land Rover models to return again with the Range Rover. The current fourth-generation model has been on the market since the 2013 model year, and while it remains a modern luxury icon, the market has heated up, and the fifth Range Rover is due to celebrate the model’s 50^th anniversary in 2020.

The annual Winter Romp brought over 200 Land Rovers to Waterville and Benton, Maine this year, a new attendance record for one of the largest Rover events in America. One of them this year was a special visitor: Oxford, the Series I 86" from the First Overland expedition, beginning its 2020 Oxford in America Tour.

After a decade at the head of Jaguar Land Rover, CEO Ralf Speth will be stepping down from the role in September 2020. He will transition to the board of Tata Sons, which is the holding company of JLR owner Tata Group.
